Big Obnoxious Logo Animation - amateur 3d animation

So this is part of a series of animations I made back in high school that won the state-wide animation competition in Spring 2006 (each of which had to fall under certain limits, explained below). The quality isn't professional. After all, it was completely done by me in a short time span in high school, so I think it's pretty good all things considered. I'm currently in college working on a degree in 3D art and technology.

So the limit for this was it had to be some kind of logo animation. Originally my Contraption video was going to be the logo, but I decided that'd be best under Mechanical Movement instead. So I made this blatant ripoff of a certain well-known company. I don't think I did all that terribly, considering.

How did you made that lights?

I used cylindrical spot lights and increased the visible light to about 50-70% on the front two (with a slight falloff to make the falloff glow), and about 70-90% visibility for the back 3. Then set the color to a light bluish hue, changed the widths of the lights as needed, and then just animated the back 3 by swiveling them on their axis.

The best title for the logo I've seen for all these "remixes". Pity you couldn't do the whole camera animation back then...Still good though, my Blender animations didn't look that good when I was in high school...
