Oil industry expert: Nuking oil leak 'only thing we can do' Bloomberg — May 28, 2010 — May 28 (Bloomberg) — Matt Simmons, founder and chairman emeritus of Simmons & Co., talks with Bloomberg's Mark Crumpton and Lori Rothman about BP Plc's leaking oil well in the Gulf of Mexico. BP said in a statement today that it has spent $930 million responding to the spill, which began after an April 20 rig explosion that killed 11 workers. The well has been spewing an estimated 12,000 to 19,000 barrels of oil a day into the Gulf, a U.S. government panel said yesterday. (Source: Bloomberg)
@cjw1010 I never said that they sent seals and we were never talking about who used nukes first, now did we? The fact that you are not able to read and/or understand that little bit of text in my comment tells me all i need to know about your intellectual capabilities. Don't talk about sources and calling other people names if you are not even able to think on the level of a first grader.

@Samurailord lmfao your such an idiot the russians were the first one to use nukes, and they never sent navy seals actually check your sources idiot.

@lee0slayer There is the option of using other types of explosives. Why does it have to be a nuclear detonation? That is plain stupidity at its best. As if radiation would bind oil or something. It really is unbelievable that americans always come up with the idea of nukes if they run out of solutions. Or they deploy their army. Haha.. yeah right. Send your Navy Seals to seal the hole. That MUST work right? They got guns and stuff!

@ThatOneN0ob It is not as simple as you would like it to be. Yes i made a typo, so what? And if you had a good understanding of world history and politics you'd know that "other countries" take many actions too. Some of them a lot more than the USA. And most of them do good things compared to the USA's favourite actions: War, enviromental hazard and terrorism in the form of economical warfare.
And yes: You do get the blame for it. So does everyone else. Take responsibility for your actions!

@Samurailord im not supporting this idea, but the russians where successful in blocking gas spills, if you imagine the gas would come from a shaft from deep within the rock, if you place a nuke deep into the rock, then you can compress the shaft. But yeah radioactive water is not good for the environment, but since when have america cared about the environment, its hardly like they were apprehensive about nuking hiroshima because the local bird population may suffer losses XD jks

@Samurailord I'm sorry, are you mocking our educational system when you cant even spell educational.
I hate when someone does something wrong or stupid in america, and all of america gets blamed for it.
The only reason other countries don't get blamed is because they don't do anything to help in the first place.
If theres no action there can simply be no mistake.

~That their solution to everything. "When the going gets tough, they blow that shit up." Americans are so fucking stupid.

What the fuck is that shit.. are americans really THAT stupid?
Problem + Nukes = Solution?
then why don't you nuke yourself to solve the problems with your enducational system? ffs...
even IF a detonation would help you'd definately NOT use nuclear explosives but something that detonates WITHOUT radiation! The problem is the marine life and not the coastline. Great idea of preventing further marine hazards.. nuke the fucking ocean. Hooray for idiocrazy.
