Requested Video. This original snare uses a rock as a counter weight to unload the trap. I use a tree.

  • How did you make the snare? I have only made them out of wire

  • @Fishkid88 I used paracord...

  • I have to say you are a Wealth of Wilderness Skills!!! My Brother and I are going to start practicing Bushcraft this Spring and you and your videos are so greatly appreciated. Thanx Buddy...

  • @EMMONS100 You are very welcome...thanks..

  • How about adding a small thin twig on top of your main horizontal stick forming a cross.. to hold up the all sides of the snare making more of a circle pattern of your paracord? Instead of it draping down. Just a thought. Will have to experiment and see .. As it is also known that most all birds are edible. A good survival skill.. Thanks.

  • @99bugout Thanks...Got a good idea there...well done...

  • @Animerawks100 Welcome...

  • Thank you now i can now learn how to catch those sparrows who been eating my chicken food all winter long. Thanks Bro.

  • Thank you...I saw this in an old book and decided to modify it. Usually they will use a rock for the spring as a counter weight I rather use a tree.

  • That's a pretty cool snare. Where did you learn that one? Any good resources you like to share for more snares?
