I use debian Lenny, it was installed by booting of dvd my old way of installing debian in text mode. That is helpful to those who cant install debian.
I think Ubuntu is better for those who are new into Linux. The Ubuntu installer offers a easy way to dual book linux and windows for those who are unsure of making the full change. 8.04 also offers the choice of installing Ubuntu into windows as if it were some application like Word or a game.
