Lol, I laughed at this video. Onlive released their mobile app a couple days ago. It has a 4.2/5 rating and 10,000 to 50,000 download/installs in just 24 hours. They are and will be successful in short terms. =)
Were you aware before posting this video that OnLive is out of beta and available to the public? You can sign up right now and get an active account - my friend did and got his in a matter of a week or so.
Read up on how OnLive works, then try it for yourself. If you watched any of the videos over the last year or so, they explain why their system doesn't have the latency problems of traditional media streams.
You pulled all your numbers out of your ass. Look up facts first, my friend.
i have it and it works great . it s not super high hd , heck i dont even know if it its hd but it plays and looks good. i agree that the paying for the games at full price blows, i thought that the price of the games would go down since they dont have to print and ship dvd. so i just pay the 5 day price to see if i like the game, usually $6 for just cause 2. they only have abot 12 games right now and some of the games suck , but splinter cel demo ran great but they want same price as retail!!
@T3hMilkman I don't believe I am. A simple visit to Onlive's main website before filming this would have corrected some of the incorrect facts. That tells me that instead of seeing if anything has changed before jumping in he just filmed it. He has a lot of subscribers and I would hate to have someone sign off on Onlive because he didn't know all his facts. As I said before, I am a big fan and will continue to enjoy his videos, but I felt I needed to point out his mistakes.
ok onlive might run great right now but once it starts to get enough users the server load will start to go up and things will begin to get really laggy if you want a good example go download second life and try to walk around a bit and see what im talking about and thats with sl only running the physics on its end and your computer running the graphics and most of the other things that go on onlive the server will have to run everything on its end it will be laggy
You have a valid point as it needs a really heavy transfer speed wiht allso contres the claim as one can run crusis ona really weak comptuer as if the speed is 100mbs you cant take advantage of that for the computer getting the information arent able to handle it.
But main tihng is acutally everyone is going for wireless modems and they are alleady pretty slow, with allso may make it less practical.

The guy who created it has a long history of creating companies, hyping the hell out of them and then selling it to a much larger company.
Also, they are not charging the fee anymore + allowed free spectators.
The costs of running this will be out of this world.
Youtube is currently losing several hundred million dollars a year
Onlive is doomed.
