If Earth Could Speak: The Gulf Stream

The scientists and climatologists tell us that the Atlantic Ocean conveyor, known as The Gulf Stream, is the mechanism that keeps our global temperatures warm in the Northern Hemisphere. They tell us that if it fails to continue to function then another Ice Age is imminent. The massive introduction of fresh water into the northern Atlantic Ocean can cause the saline balance that holds The Gulf Stream conveyer intact to literally dissolve or dilute. This may cause the conveyer to cease to function. The effects of which will be catastrophic. The financial impact on North America and European populations, due to displacement as the ice advances, would be immeasurable. The costs to humanity cannot be measured. Eventually the most of those entire populaces north of The Equator would have to move to Southern regions permanently. That advent alone would be daunting enough to achieve. Once these populations have moved there will considerably less land available to agriculture to feed the global population creating a possible food shortage situation.

I propose that the salt that is extracted by the Desalinization Plants be delivered and dumped into the northern regions of the Atlantic Ocean to balance the influx of fresh water with salt to maintain the delicate saline mixture or balance that is required to maintain the successful continuation of this river within the ocean. If we fail most of North America and Europe will end up under ice according to scientific predictions. We must employ desalinization on a global magnitude because the ocean is the only source large enough to supply enough salt to prevent the loss of The Gulf Stream.

And he was RIGHT. No one tried a solution yet though.  The gulf loop broke in the summer of 2010. Do we hear any politician discussing it at all? No, but we do hear some scientists showing it on youtube, "scientist-gulf-loop-current-i­s-broken" .

Not sure if it was the ice melt as this guy discusses, or the oil spill. But no one is talking about it. God help us all.

How is the warming caused? That answer has not been de-classified yet. Once we see what is causing it, then we act. You are proposing changing th pH level of an entire eco-system on what? Al Gore? He needs to give his medal back!

That's funny, i proposed the same solution about a year ago on one of the forums i visit. I wonder if it really is feasible? I come from Australia and we have been discussing nationally the need for desalination plants.

Very well explained. I don't know when you did this video but it highlights roughly the same thing as myself and my Mum's partner were discussing the other day.
