Persia only refers to the homeland of the persians, who were only an ethnic group belonging to the wider iranian/indo-iranian (indo-aryan) group of peoples...Iran, a derivative of the word "Aryan" refers to te land of all these people, persia being merely a region

The mullahs themselves are iranians, albeit a different class...Iran is the prime example of a nation always hindered by despotism and stupidity...the persians have always endorsed the notion of kingship and the idea of a supreme leader (like ayatollah khamenei) is in it's essence an iranian idea... the sort of Islam you now find in iran is essentialy an "Iranian Islam", thre is not much "Arabism" to it.
