Hard to believe Eric was 17 at the time and totally at home with seasoned pros like Jaki Byard,Richard Davis and Alan Dawson-- one of the best rhythm sections at the time, recording mostly for Don Schlitten produced Prestige Records. I remember wonderful Booker Ervin sessions in particular but also some Roland Kirk and still later one of the best Phil Woods records. What happened to Eric, he was so promising ?!
makes me want to dig out my old lp's with Kloss and Martino ....this guy was a real talent....i was hoping that someone would put him up on youtube....It is good to remember....and to appreciate
Gentle One was my favorite composition from this album. The most emotional from the pen of Mr. Byard
