Children Of Bodom is a five-piece metal outfit hailing from Helsinki, Finland, but it's not just another band. Imagine a bunch of friends, no, brothers, with a huge passion for music, but little clue on the business side of the whole thing. Going to the airport whenever they're told to with little idea where the next show even is.. Selling out big venues in every corner of the world, yet ripping it up in a cramped rehearsal room that looks more like a waste disposal shaft.. That's Children Of Bodom - the embodiment of the cliché of a passionate and pure at heart basement band consisting of best friends in a professional, world acclaimed metal group.

What does Children Of Bodom mean?

A: The name of the band originates from a 45-year-old Finnish murder mystery which took place near the band's home region Espoo, Finland. Back in 1960, four teenagers went camping near Bodominjärvi (=Lake Bodom). They were attacked during the night leaving only one of them barely alive.

The triple murder was never solved even though the Lake Bodom case was re-opened in 2004 to no avail as new evidence had come to light. It still remains the biggest and most speculated mystery of Finnish crime history.

Oh yeah now I see the problem. Sorry for being a dick. There are closeminded AYDY (not nearly as good as HCDR or BD)-faggots and closeminded Hatebreeder-metalheads or whatever. All of the records are nice but the first three are definitely underrated. And not to slip from my point of view but the three newest especially AYDY are slightly overrated atleast here where I am. Where you live its probably more common to overrate AYDY and Co. But here in Finland people respect the first three also.

It's just usually in metal if you are that rich it means, coincidentally or not, that your music has been watered down to mainstream appeal, which is also not wrong but usually mainstream music is dumbed down and easy to listen to because the majority of humans don't prefer Black Sabbath over Britney Spears.
