Good Video I rated it five stars. I know that there are four forbidden techiques in Judo: the Do Jime is one; which are the other three?

@Glenn1967ful There are a myriad of techniques in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that can break necks, some of those can also be used from multiple positions so yeah you probably read right, most all exotic submissions are prohibited in Judo competition and many more now with the new rule set. :(

I did judo years ago and remember reading some American textbook from about 1971 where it showed a technique that could break necks. I do remember it being a ground technique, but can't remember what it was called as the club I was in said it was illegal in British judo.

I'm not sure you ran across the prohibition on do-jime here, so much as the prohibition on dragging your opponent to the ground (You can have a guard as normal when you're not trying unusual crushing techniques like this or a figure four, you just have to get it from at least attempting a strong takedown or having one done to you, not by pulling them straight into your guard from nothing). That rules not for safety but to encourage interesting and forcible throws.

Well yeah. Pointless move to use in a Judo competition where IJF rules out everything. -_-
