No. You can expect to be in an Infantry Battalion for some time before taking that course. It's a pre-requisite for promotion to Master Coporal.

Why the stakes between the barrel? What range was your target? Gagetown or Wainwright? Keep up the great posts.

The stakes were to limit the arcs as this is a somewhat tight range in Petawawa and a wayward gun could send rounds downrange where you might not want them. Targets range from 50-1500m.
