UWE U3 Bus Driver on the phone

Always a good idea to be cautious using cycle lanes on the road, especially passing up the inside of large vehicles, in this case a bus. The driver is totally unaware of me, despite the fact that I'm wearing a hi vis jersey and my powerful strobing LED light. He strays into the cycle lane forcing me up against the kerb and I have to stop. The reason he is not paying attention? He is on the phone. With a bus full of passengers too!

@Cr1byn Yes, I should have posted an update. The company got in touch to say that they would speak to the driver and I was happy to leave it at that. I've seen him since - not on the phone I hasten to add, so hopefully he now appreciates the need to pay full attention to the job at hand - that's driving not using his phone :-)

@AnalogueAndy Nice one Andy! That forced one bus driver to 'up his game' & the bus company to take responsibility for his poor driving standards(knowing it's all on film). Makes the road safer for us all

The driver needs to be pulled-up on his casual disregard for others' safety,...

But it is, at the end of the day a crap cycle facility - an "advisory" cycle lane ... and sometimes you just need to write it off as an option.

No way would I have persisted going up the inside of a bus like that.

I persisted for years slapping on the sides of buses on the lane going the other way down the hill, until I simply changed my route - but there was usually more room than that.
