  • Exactly right Dan! When I 1st came out at 15 my family except one sister threw a fit and called me sick etc. I ignored them and disapeared I didn't wait a year though Dans right maybe you should let them get over the shock.I lived from friends house to houses that had cool parents. Eventually my Mom went to Plage and came around. If you parents really love your child you too will come around. And now My Mother is my best friend and I can bring my boyfriends to family dinners etc...Don't give up!

  • @TheRedhead52 What is wrong with what he is saying? All he is trying to do is help gay people come out. You have no right to call him pathetic 'cause you don't understand. And what he is saying has nothing to do with god! Seriously what is your point?

  • @tx2vt Fuck you, but not really because I'm a dyke.

  • Yes! I've said time and time again. It took me 2 years to accept I was gay, 2 more years to actually get to the point where I could tell someone and yet I expected my mother to have no problem with it what so ever, and that was so wrong. She didn't cut me out of her life but I didn't want to hear what she was saying anymore than she wanted to hear what I'd said.

  • @Omnigeek nobody finds you intelegent

  • This isn't just good advice for gay people. A lot of my friends are from families who oppose dating in general and this works wonders in most families.

  • I'm a gay 19-year-old. I just came out to my dad and the rest of my Mormon family. It was really hard but they're already starting to come around. I look forward to them apologizing for saying words like failure, inappropriate, and wrong. Thank you for this video!

  • if they are going to treat u like dirt then u have the right to be given all the same benefits ur siblings or a str8 kid would get ..don't say anything to them until that support is done..then tell them...I'd like to meet Dan's ex bf.. he seems like an awesome guy.. on your own at 14 yo..how he did it should be made into a movie

  • most of the time espicially if your in a country that doesnt care about your sexually orientation but when your in a country that will hang you if your gay lasbian or bi you really dont have a choice to come out you just need to live in the dark.

  • @sillykatz By the way, I came out as lesbian, I'm not bi anymore, how funny is that? Though I support bi people totally, which is why I stopped lying to myself and came out as gay! Why, well a few men called Johnny Depp, british actor Sacha Dahwan(look him up) David Tennant and Matt Smith really had me thinking that I was bi, but as you all know, celebrities don't really count! Their like a pretty car, sure you want it, but it maybe impractical to have one as my gay guy friend told me.

  • @TruthSpeaker1010 How is he a misogynist prick? Really please tell me! By the way, not only do you sound like an idiot(if you don't like him why are you watching his videos?) but you sound racist and extremely homophobic. It sucks being gay, and the whole, "how white of you" thing, pretty fucking racist if you ask me! Maybe if you were actually a gay person or lgbt person or know somebody who is and love them you would understand what we are wanting, equal rights!! Get over yourself!
