Bernadette Peters reads her book "Broadway Barks" and sings "Kramer's Song" at Books Inc. in San Francisco on Saturday, July 26th, 2008.
Apologies for both the shakiness of the footage - I was excited, can you blame me? - and the fact that it's in two halves. It was filmed with a still photo camera that allows three-minute video recordings as well, so I made do with what I had.
The only part I missed between part one and part two was "...a small girl appears. She says..."
"Broadway Barks" was inspired by the annual star-studded animal adoption event of the same name, which benefits animal shelters throughout the New York City area and was co-founded by Bernadette and Mary Tyler Moore. All author royalties from this book are donated to Broadway Barks.
"Kramer's Song" was written by Bernadette and appears on a CD that accompanies the book (along with an audio recording of her reading the story).
I tried to get a shot of the barking dog at the end, in case you wonder why the camera suddenly turns to the floor. ^_^
