Overview on Vintage Aetna, RCA Victor, & Zenith Radio's(Read more below).

AETNA 652 AM/Shortwave Tube Radio from about 1937-38...RCA Victor 68R3 AM/FM Tube Radio from about 1946-47...Zenith 9H988R AM/FM Tube Console Radio-Phono from about 1948-49. These are my friends antique radio's and they are in original, un-restored condition(Photos of radio's are from the web on each of his respective models). Even though the radio's all need electronic restoration work, they give a glimpse of how good they can sound, when they are fully restored and optimized in performance, showing just how far back good sound reproduction can be found.

Audio transferred to computer from friends Sony Handy Cam. I edited out his talking, where he described the radio's, and some room noise artifacts(such as bumping and moving around sounds where they occurred). Also, you can tell when he was moving about with camera as radio's sound more upfront, and focused at times and more muffled and distant at other times. Radio artifacts(Such as scratchy controls, or tuning between stations was left in). The camera mic did a very good overall job on picking up the sound from the radio's speakers. The Zenith Console is missing the record changer at the moment, and one might be found someday to add back phono playback of vintage 78's!!
