Because Thailand is such a social place. People usually don't sit in their room for long periods of time. It is cheap to be out and doing things. Most people find they are only in their rooms for showering and sleeping or to read something on their computer.

Great ? Are you kidding ? It is what it is of course, but it's a tiny 1 room space that most any westerner would go stir crazy in after 2 weeks ...... Ok for a week maybe but to actually live for any length of time you better think twice ! lol .....
