  • how you install guvc view on every distro, how can i install it on opensuse 12.1

  • @apnesh552

you may have to get it from Packman... just google "Opensuse 12.1 guvcview" and you will find the rpms

  • Haven't installed yet but the Live CD seems promising. I've gone from Ubuntu(Unity arrgghh) to suse to Mint and now possibly Mandriva. It does have a hellafied Gnome 3 remix feel to it but seems livable. Nice review. Although I didn't have any slow scrolling at all using the live disk. Thanks!

  • Nice review, got a good idea of what it's like.

Definitely not happy where everything's going as far as GUI's, they keep cutting crap out of menus and trying to give us HUGE BLOCKY ICONS because we're obviously not capable of using a good launching program such as katapult or gnome-do to launch.. I feel like they're dumbing it down as much as possible to appease end users, each release seems to make it harder for a power user to get what they want to do done. :'(

  • Oh man, you did this at 5:00 a.m.?

  • from the thumbnail i thought it was windows 7 0.0

  • eg lubuntu is the best dose not take to much ram people for get about this but it all so take no cpu wich means your pc will last longer

  • is it fast or slow i hate eye candy for the sack of eye candy

  • @CristyS89 I don't like it either

  • I think Ubuntu's fairly safe for now... xD But it does look good. :) In fact, the first ever distro I tried to install was Mandriva 2009. :) I say "tried" because it failed, and I gave up. xD Ah, such a Windows user I was... "Was" being the operative word there. ^^ But seriously, 1.6GB and MPM isn't even included by default? Not for the user who doesn't like weighty yet empty systems... :s

  • @Linux4UnMe

Although I did have a hell of a time on the install! Kept getting update errors (prob because I pointed at a U.S. mirror) and got a list of kernel updates that was useless! Ugh! Went right back to Mint 11. Checking out Debian KDE right now though. Too many choices!
