I do not think it was Tacitus who recorded some non-descript teacher in the Holy Land (that was meant to be Jesus) but actually someone else and it was one reference and it was very vague. Compared to any other historical group or individual Jesus is literally non-existent. For eg. Tacitus wrote "Agricola and Germania" which records the pre-Christian tribes and their exploits. Pagans can therefore refer to that as their lineage. The Bible is all you have for Jesus & it is thoroughly discredited.
