Queer & Asian: Complex Identities [HD]

This is the final video product that my friends and I made for our Asian American Studies 171: Asian Americans in Film class.

It challenges and critiques the way in which mainstream and silverscreen media does not fully illustrate queer identities and homogenizes them based off stereotypes. We also aimed to look at the perspective of queer and Asian identities and how those intersectionalities better critique the representations in the media.

This is a mediocre documentary-like film that I edited and two of my other friends helped planned the layout for the film.

Because of the video editing program I used, the audio switches from left to right if you have headphones on.

It's better to watch this without headphones or make sure that the both sides of your headphones work.

There is something wrong with the audio. Some parts I can hear and other parts it just blanks out the voices. Can you re upload this? I really think this an interesting video and looking more in depth of the lives of Asians in the LGBTQ community.

You're right that the media truly does skew and categorize individuals based on what they perceive to be ie. correct, incorrect, moral or immoral. My friend and I made a video academically analyzing identity.
