This fascinating and restored Tower House is one of the best preserved examples of a reiver's tower house or 'pele'. Tours are available by arrangement. A very pleasant location, on the banks of the River Esk. Some speculate this was the home of of the infamous Johnnie Armstrong of Gilnockie. The building is cared for by Clan Armstrong Centre.
that subhuman of a king did nothing but make us more proud to be of Armstrong blood.

"Sod Off in Stone"...Liddel Strength...viet Armis, INVICTUS MANEO. The gene of Gilnockie Johnnie, hard as the man himself..Armstrongs and their descendants-diluted by marriage..but still everywhere; their Ethnic Cleansing hypocricy couldn't wipe us out! Thankyou for King Reiver History, Keepin' it ALIVE!! Penníe, )O(
