Animation portraying the STS-124 mission, which involves the launch of the shuttle Discovery on May 31 to deliver the second of three Japanese modules to the International Space Station. AGI has used its STK software suite to create video footage.
The shuttle Discovery will be carrying the second of three Japanese Kibo modules to the International Space Station (ISS). The new Japanese Pressurized Module (JPM) and Experiment Module Remote Manipulator System (JEMRMS) robotic arm will attach to the end of the U.S. Harmony module. The smaller Japanese Experiment Logistics module -- Pressurized Section (ELM-PS), which was brought up on the STS-123 shuttle mission, will be relocated from the Harmony module to the end of the PM.
