Kelly, Why did you not offer your services? That woman really needed the help. Not sure telling her to bring her unstable dog to a dog park was a good idea.

@panzertoo First off I am not reading any books. I have actually worked with one of the best trainers in my area and he was on the USA national schultzand team. My trainers has been doing this for almost 40 years. It is one thing to correct the dog with the collar if the dog is trying to go after something but when asking to perform a down or other command I think you should give the dog a chance to respond before you correct.

@italo6789 oh gee I'm not sure what books you are reading but waiting until after the fact and trying to use a collar to correct behavior is not right maybe you can post some training videos of yopur dogs also if you have a sound box it makes it easier to see whats going on

Why ~49s in do you shock the dog? It is lying down, ignoring the GSD with it's back to her, the dog is relatively calm. There is the shock and then you request the dog to get up and heel. What was the dog doing wrong? How was it supposed to learn anything from this? I don't see how this is support to help her progress. Operant conditioning - Cue, behaviour, consequence - that is the order it works, can't change the order of these and expect the dog to get the message. Me & dog confused!

@katethevet the buzzing is a pager there is a whole playlist you can see the end result bottomline the dog was a dangerous dog always err on the side of caution anticipation is the key to being a good dog trainer I will check out your training videos

@katethevet dogs that are being ''shocked '' as you it called do not eat food I will look forward to your videos showing how you deal with extremely dog aggressives pits!
