On International Roma Day. lets not forget our own Travelling peoples. While they get a lot of bad press, as do all minorities - the bad done by members is highlighted, and the good ignored - they were once an integral part of society, before indistrialisation and mechanisation took away their trades.
Today, another class o people - the Spáilpíní - have dissapeard among the working classes, and it would be a shame for the travelling peoples to lose their identity in that way.
what have roma's to do with irish travellers?
