The PBS series "NOVA" has a very interesting episode on the degree to which the archaeological record does and does not confirm the historicity of the Bible. Link:

For those outside the United States, one of my viewers indicates that the following link can be used to access the program. (I didn't know PBS doesn't make its programming available outside the United States. That's ridiculous.):

If you have any questions about this, contact user Riversonthemoon (I don't know anything about it). Thanks.

If all else fails, here's a link to PBS's YouTube channel where a number of bits from the program are available for viewing:

  • What are your thoughts on Zeitgeist?

  • @chirectomy It had its moments. Not a favorite of mine.

  • NOVA is pure propaganda. There are vast amounts of lectures on YT from life-long researchers proving the biblical history. They've found Sodom & Gomorah, the Red Sea Crossing, as NOVA pointed out the existance of King David, 25,000 seperate artifacts related to biblical characters, the list goes on. Please don't take NOVAS lies as truth. I got links if u like.

  • @BlindMonkeyProd Tell me about their finding the evidence for the story reported in Exodus. Thanks.

  • Hi, You might want to check out the lecture "Egyptian Chronology and the Old Testament" before swallowing what Nova and it's archaeologists say concerning the approximate dates of many happenings in the ancient Biblical accounts. Thanks

  • @BackInTheGarden Whose lecture is that and why should I give it more weight? Thanks.

  • @groundhog0339 -Revisionist chronology creates far more problems than it solves. Conventional historical chronology is strongly supported by stratigraphy and the Assyrian records.

  • @BlindMonkeyProd If this has anything to do with Ron Wyatt, all of these claims are obviously false. His "Gommorah" is an aragonite formation formed by Lake Lisan sediments. The Red Sea Crossing claim is contradicted by the Bible (see the references to Shur in Samuel). If NOVA told any lies here, they are in favor of biblical historicity, not against it.

  • The YouTube channel aroodawakening has a link to their web site and there is a video that shows the under water video evidence of Pharaoh's chariots being on the bottom of the sea that the Israelites crossed. This video you are watching came before this discovery.

  • I don't get it. Why would anybody pay ANY ATTENTION WHATSOEVER to the bible? When people say they believe what's in the bible, something has really gone wrong.

  • @ProfMTH

No offense, but in this "Information Age", if you were serious in your questioning it's not hard to find out whose lecture that is... Professor & historian Mark Woolmer of the Edinburgh Creation Group, an active forum where scientifically minded people meet to discuss evidence supporting the biblical account of creation. And in my opinion these folks deserve as much, if not more, attention than the left leaning PBS/Nova people and their Biblical minimalist propaganda. Thank you.

  • This ranks right up there with Zeitgeist

  • To paraphrase some comments below: "Obviously, non-Christian archaeologists have an agenda to destroy the Christian faith. Besides, lots of faithful Christian archaeologists are willing to confirm every jot and tittle of the Bible." Somehow the thought that archaeologists would have an agenda seems counter to the very character of archaeology and science in general... which is why sticking Christian in front of your field is a good way of being accused of not being a real scientist.

  • Yeah, everything on here is a lie, lol. everything, dates, etc. have been verified to be biblically accurate.
