Read Bobby's and Wille JmB autobiography. Both mentioned that hard tough men were chosen for the tour, and it looks like t it worked. 2ndly my experience of 20years of amateur club rugby aspects of tactical violence were part of the game. The OH would get lamped when the refs back was turned, the hooker was wining too much lose ball "give him a shooing" blimey i bloody lovedit.(gave and took) I'm educated to degree level. And the pi*s ups afterwards with the oppsoing team.....awsome!
Cheers

Bobby Windsor in his autobiography says that there was no 99 call; it's just a myth for the after dinner circuit. Everyone piled in for the fighting as soon as it kicked off, but there was no-one shouting "99".
NINETY-NINE- let's kick some BOK Arse, lads!!!

You know the situation is bad when JPR is called an animal, I was privileged to see the man play on many occasions, he was a real gentleman both on and off the field.
Probably the best defensive full back ever.
