This story begins when I had my first horse Opie. He was sound in the beginning and would do anything u asked him to do! I was so happy when I finally had him for 1 year! But everything went down hill in September of 2010. I went out after school one day in September and was all happy I was gonna get to ride my boy! But when I got on him and warmed him up, I bringing him into the trot and something just didn't feel right about his trot that evening! My mom said he is dragging his right hind leg and he is bobbing his head alittle. I got off and walk him around alittle and my instucter said he looks lame to me. That word made me upset. It was about 1 month later and he wasn't getting any better! So we called the vet. She strechched his muscles alittle and then troted him alittle bit up and down the barn's driveway, he was fine that night but he was still lame the next day. So finally the vet told us he was (never) going to get better, that broke my heart into pieces!! I got home and just cried. My mom put him up for sale on dreamhorse.com a week later..... We literally went through 20 people who where interested in opie... We finally found someone who sounded perfect! She sent us pics of her farm and her rescued horses. It was confermed, Opie was... sold:( My parents and I drove 3 hours to his new home.... When we got there his new home was great. He went into the pasture, he fit right in, he made new friends right away. But saying goodbye to the one u love is hard. I didn't wanna go home, i wanted to stay there with him, never letting him go. But I had to say goodbye.... I cried, and I hugged him and kissed him. I got in the car with my parents and they drove home, with an empty trailer. I miss him alot, but his is happy there. His new Owner and I e-mail eachother from time to time and she sends me pics of him, and he looks so happy, she tells me i can come and visit him anytime it want, so in the summer im gonna go and see him. So that is the WHOLE story of Opie and my journey together! Pretty long uh?

@smoothsailin14 Thank you so much! I'm glad he found a great home too. He deserves it. He had tons of years working and he gets to retire. If he's lameness gets better (which it is) when I go and see him the summer his new owner said I could ride him. I'm just glad he found an amazing home.
