Whale Wars: Season 2 -- SSCS Rams Japanese Ship (2nd Angle)

Here's a quote from Paul Watson, captain of the Steve Irwin (SSCS) about this incident...

"TheYushin Maru No.1 was transferring the whale up the slipway and we were trying to block that transfer and the Yushin Maru No.2 just shot right in front of us," Mr Watson told AAP, speaking via satellite phone.

"I couldn't move to starboard without hitting the vessel and I couldn't move to port without hitting them.

"I tried to back off, but it was too sudden and we ran right into their stern ... they threw themselves right in front of us. There wasn't anything we could do."

I don't like what the Japanese are doing. I don't think anybody should be hunting whales. -- I also don't trust anybody who is willing to deliver such a bold-faced lie. Watch this video, and the first video showing the view from the boat that was struck, and tell me that he was "forced" to hit the vessel.

Most of us do not condone what the Japanese are doing. Heck, most of us downright think it's an abomination to hunt and kill whales. However, the question I would have for everybody who roots for the Sea Shepherds is, "does video like this help the cause, or hurt it?"

I've seen far more bad publicity than good because of the ineptitudes of this crew. Most of it revolves around the perception that Paul Watson is taking advantage of groups of idealisting youth, putting thim in harms way with little to no training, gambling their lives to gain publicity for himself and his organization, then tossing them away when they no longer suit his purpose. (See the departure of the first crew in season I.)

Bottom line, I believe - like many others - that the wales would be better served without extremists like Watson and his excs.

@brianrooney4LL yeah, i disagree. japan has been catching whales for centuries. Some of them are in danger of extinction because of environmental change. More than 90% of premature death are due to collision with boats. Those SS idiots are creating more problems by adding more boats.
