Ok all finished now, i think the black chrome Talons look better with the yellow and black theme, rear lights in, not too bright which is more 'scale-like'. Mud flaps attached, not sure how long they will stay on, all i need to do is find a suitable dusty car park :),
Hope you like, roof lights are from a pound shop, attached to a proline roof rack, i bought a few, they are pretty durable, only the plastic that attaches them to the roof bar snaps sometimes in a major tumble, may well try thick Lexan, this shell is for the Traxxas Slayer so was .60 thick, i've got some off-cuts. Fronts lights are made from plastic card, plastic welded, painted black, these were very frustrating to do as the shell was curved and i was putting 2 in each cluster, had to get the angles right and do the same for the other side, the closest to the grill are 100,000 mcd 10mm leds, the outer are 25,000, 5mm, the rears are from Maplins..
thanks for looking, Cheers..

  • Do the tires hit the body when the suspension compresses? I'm thinking about lifting my slash 4x4 using stampede parts wheels

  • @1chris311 Cheers for looking, I tend to run my trucks on pretty stiff suspension, as most of my runs and jumps are on hard surfaces, minimizing body roll. Normal running they wouldn't hit the shell, but off a serious jump they would. I opened up the wheel arches too.

Good luck with your conversion, Cheers

  • what did u have to do to get the body to fit the stampede

  • @ajansen97 hi there, sorry for delay, just to clarify my Stampede is extended..so more like the wheelbase of a Slash..so the front stampede posts are chopped down and longer posts screwed in, the rears have the aluminium shock tower so i used the long Revo 3.3 posts. I normally buy some longer/stronger body posts and just modify them to fit the body I'm doing at the time..hope this helps..this shell will not fit a 'stock' Stampede..Cheers..

  • hi there, i sold this now, might do another one, but the lights were made from plastic card..as a one off, see vid details..Cheers

  • hey man whats the electronics your using? is the suspension stock? This truck is sweet!

  • @TheMrbigOne1 thanks for looking, I've just bit the bullet and installed the Mamba max pro esc in after my 3rd vxl esc starting playing up..stock vxl motor, 11.1v 5300 lipos 25c though..might try 14.8v lipo, but its plenty fast..on 19t 86spur. Temps on motor hover around 175-180 but back to back 11.1volts it gets to 200..so i let it cool down. I've just ordered the FLM tranny to get temps lower, I sold this shell but might do another one and get it lower. Stock stampede Shocks..Cheers..
