Have a dad that was already in Hollywood...that works... Melvin Van Peebles has been in Hollywood since 1955, I think that would help. Connections/networking is key. Or Bj's all around.

This debate on his race is getting on my nerves. Mario Van Peebles is son of Melvin Van Peebles (an African American filmmaker) and German actress Maria Marx (who is caucasion). His father has lived all over the world that's why he was born in Mexico. In a nutshell, his heritage is black and white!
