Well you guys did a great job! I'm playing in the orchestra in a concert on Saturday, and we're doing this and Beethoven's 9th. Should be pretty special.

This piece was something that really took time to learn, but when it came together with the orchestra-it hit the very core of my soul to sing and be a part of . I grew to love it, and am so glad it was finally on YouTube to enjoy!

I performed this with the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts Choir back in the 80's. One of the most darkly beautiful pieces ever.

I had almost forgotten what it was like..... and uh, nice timpani, S. LOL.

I sang in this performance and I am so happy to see it here on youtube! I sang with the LMU Chorale under the direction of Paul Salamunovich from 1986-90 and it was some of my best memories of college. He is such a gifted conductor and I am so proud to have been a part of his choir.
I just sang this piece as a member of the Buffalo Choral Arts Society with the Cheektowaga Symphony. The performance was dedicated to the victims of the crash of flight 3407. It was one of the most incredibly moving experiences of my life.

oerformed this piece during the summer of 1971 with the american youth symphony and chorus. took a lot of work to lean and eventually memorize, but grew to love this piece. as an adult, now (i was a teenager back then) i can appreciated the mystical quality of RVW music and whitman's poetry. it was a transforming experience for a 16 yr. odl. i still know it almost by heart.
