  • I cant say I ever saw a swing bridge. Very fascinating I must say!

  • Cool video!

  • I got to turn a small one of these, it had to gear ratios literally named "man" and "woman". Man was 4 turns to rotate the bridge 90 degrees, woman was 12 turns for full rotation.

  • We have a few swing bridges in the UK most built around 1900 they are a total pain in the butt to keep working.and worn out despite a multiude of major overhauls

  • where is this

  • Forgot about those bridges. Seems like there were a few that the track mechanism would be raised (risen?) and the boats would go underneath. You don't see many ingenious 'gadgets' anymore.

  • there is a reason u dont see many swing bridges these days

  • nice vid!

  • This is one of the coolest videos I've seen on youtube...awesome job!!

  • there`s one in St.Joseph,Mi.......not sure if they still use it though.....on the river near Silver Beach.
