India Pakistan Peace Poem

इस बेन्तेहा नफ़रत की
कोई ऐसी मजबूरियाँ नहीं
हैं सरहदें क्यूँ जब
दिलों में दूरियाँ नहीं

कई सालों तक हम
एक दूजे के साए थे
परछायँ बन कर चले
हमेशा कब प्राय थे
है बदले की हक़ुम्त क्यूँ
जब दिलों मैं मंज़ूरियाँ नहीं
हैं सरहदें क्यूँ जब
दिलों में दूरियाँ नहीं

हम से हैं हम हिंदू
हम से मुसलमान बने
फिर क्यूँ एक दूजे के सीने पे
हम ने यूँ हथियार टने
है ग़लती किसी एक की
या सब की बेकसूरियाँ नहीं
हैं सरहदें क्यूँ जब
दिलों में दूरियाँ नहीं

اس بے انتہا نفرت کی
کوئی اہسی مجبوریاں نہی
ہیں سرحدیں کیوں جب
دلوں میں دوریاں نہی

کئی سالوں تک ہم
ایک دوجے کے سائے تہے
پرچھائیاں بن کر چلے
ہمیشا کب پرائے تہے
ہے بدلے کی حکومت کیوں
جب دل میں منظوریاں نہی

ہیں سرحدیں کیوں جب
دلوں میں دوریاں نہیہم سے ہیں ہم ہندو
ہم سے مسلمان بنے
پھر کیوں اک دوجے کے سینے پے
ہمنے ہوں ھتیار تنے
ہے غلطی کسی ایک کی
یا سب کی بے قصوریاں نہی

ہیں سرحدیں کیوں جب
دلوں میں دوریاں نہی
