  • I can't compare the I780 as I have no experience with that camera. As far as concerts, I think it would do fine for compact point and shoot.

Remember, this is a sub 300 dollar point and shoot that happens to take very good video for what it is.

  • I like the video quality of this Camera. How is the battery life Firedoug? I was also looking at the Powershot sd 780IS....

  • The battery life is great, I just finished using it on a 4 day backpack trip and shot several 100 photos and over an hour of HD video, on a single battery and still had power to spare.

  • SD card is Toshiba 16GB SDHC Class 4. All video in this event are shot with the Canon.

  • Yes I am very impressed with this little camera. I returned a JVC Everio HD camcorder in favor of the quality of this point n shoot. This little canon shoots great video and is easy to pocket.

yyess i see that canon look at the window and it is many purple lines on the len

  • Compared to the megatons of "reviews" found on here where the "reviewer" spends 19 minutes unpacking a product and 1 minute talking about its features, I consider this an excellent review. Incredible HD footage for such a tiny camera. In video mode, does it take a max of 30 seconds per shoot or will it keep recording video until the the memory card is full? Thanks Doug for sharing with us this candid little segment of life in your home, with your family and pets:)
