http://www.worthgodwin.com/how-to-computer/ This lesson follows up from a previous one where I explained what a broadband modem and a router were, and how you hook them up. In this video I explain how to solve a common source of Internet connection problems by showing you how to reset your router.

  • Um... How would you reset a linksys wrt54g2? There is no reset button...

  • Well, it should be on the back. It's not very large, and may be recessed so you need a pen. I forget on that exact model but Linksys usually has them like that.

  • hi

i reseted my router but now its not wireless anymore ( WLAN indicator not on)

    I tried everything help

  • It's possible the router is actually broken -- using the reset button shouldn't turn off the wireless, at least not on any of the various models I've worked on for clients over the years...

  • hey, i have a problem setting up my wireless router..

i forgot my password and i reset it like u said but when i tried to connect it again it didnt work..

on the router appears a red light where the little picture of the modem is..

    why is that?

    please help

  • Sounds like maybe the password reset worked but the router is just having trouble connecting to the modem (which would mean your computer would see the router but not be able to get on the Internet... kind of like getting static or a blank screen on a TV -- it still turns on but there's no signal).

  • Hard to say without knowing the exact error message.

FYI, I think most routers which use the 192-format IP address use 192.168.1.1 not 2.1

    Hope that helps.

  • Heh. Woops. Think I should be eating instead of posting comments on YouTube -- just realized I repeated myself there. Better go eat and fix my low blood sugars... :)

  • Yes, it typically resets everything. In a lot of cases, it does so temporarily so if you want to put in new settings you have a window of time to do so, or if you decide not to change things, it goes back to the way it was.

Yes, it does have to be turned on. There are a lot of variations from one manufacturer to another, so it may be that some require you to press and hold the button while you turn it on (plug it in) but most (if not all) usually would need it turned on.

    Hope that makes sense.

  • Can some one help me i cant log into my router when i type 192.168.2.1 and i tryed an other IP but i cant log in thing i change some thing called Ac.... Point in the router cant really rember help plz.
