This video was one of the first applications attempted by Doug. He made a few mistakes but as you will see from video #4 and #5 that he made a lot of progress toward mastering it.
The back of the blade should be raised up at least 3". The downward pressure is not necessary and has been known to cause problems. The twisting involved with attempting to apply downward force can distort the tool causing areas to lift up along the edge.

wish I could see how you did it,

I used my Big Squeegee successfully on some smaller pieces, but when I tried to do a 2ft. x 6ft. graphic, it did not.
I kept the blade flat as instructed and let the weight of the roll give the downforce but several places the edge quit pushing the backing paper out and rode up on it causing a crease of air.
Ruined a $100 graphic.
The Big Squeegee was a Big Disappointment to me.
nowhereman, sorry to hear about your failed application. I'm just a user, but I can suggest to practice on some unprinted vinyl, because it has come in real handy for me dozens of times. I've also rode up over the backing paper by accident, almost half a dozen times, but every time & just backed up, & finished without any crease. I tip the BS up a little, and apply a little down pressure as I go, so I don't know about the idea of keeping the blade flat, or the weight of roll being the downforce.
