Me playing bass/snare/hi-hat to "Superman" (Scrubs theme). All feedback welcome but go easy on me... I've only been playing six months and this is the first song I've learned.

Good job! I think some of the problem is that the mic is really close to the cymbals... Try placing them a little further back next time and see it that helps. But that is awesome for only 6 months! Keep at it!
