The original opening of the Andy Griffith Show sponsored by Post Cereal. But it almost looks like an Ivory dishwashing liquid commercial instead.

At last your life is fulfilled and has meaning since you finally get to see what happens to that rock Opie throws!!!

  • ccc dedeler ccc

  • @Fidencano Andy Griffith Ron Howard'ın çocukların dedesi düşünülebilir. Ama gerçek hayatta, kendi geç oğlu yoktu.

  • This is the world conservatives still think we live in.

    The 1950s.

  • @gullf1sk No. This is not the 1950's. Mayberry exists in a place where time and space do not correspond to our universe. It is a utopia full of characters who never existed, of dreams and ideals that have never actually taken root, and of love of fellow man and woman, period, even Ernest T. Bass, because they are all neighbors in the world of Mayberry.

  • The original opening can be seen on the first episode, The New Housekeeper. Opie was a lot younger. I have noticed 5 different openings that were shot. One obviously was redone in 66 for the color episodes. You can tell the difference between them by looking at Ronnie's age, and Andy's habit of head nodding as they walk. (He picked this up from his own father)

  • That is fascinating. I wonder where these four other openings can be seen?

  • Ah....back when shows had around 25 minutes of show and 4 minutes of commercials. Other products promoted in this episode include Sanka Coffee, Post-Toastes cereal, Gaines-Burgers, and a promo for the Jack Benny Show (plus a fitness PSA!).

  • @gullf1sk Andy Griffith was a Democrat on the show & in real life.

  • Very happy to know that Andy Griffith never did cigarette commercials or beer commercials.

  • Used to watch this late in the mornings when I couldn't get to bed at all. Good times back then...

  • ohh yeah delicious nut sweet greatness!

  • which one's the mother and which one's the daughter?

  • Would it have killed them to include this on the DVD,s?
