This is the Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. It is located near the North entrance, just south of Gardiner, MT, but I think it is actually in Wyoming. The stair-like structures are called travertine terraces; travertine is composed primarily of Calcium Carbonate that is deposited in huge quantities daily by the spring.
