For the old Kurdish shepherd, it was just another burning hot day in the rolling plains of eastern Turkey. Following his flock over the arid hillsides, he passed the single mulberry tree, which the locals regarded as 'sacred'. The bells on his sheep tinkled in the stillness. Then he spotted something. Crouching down, he brushed away the dust, and exposed a strange, large, oblong stone.

While it was once a fertile land, I'm not sure I see how that could gave been Eden. It looks more like it would be "Noahs Arc" or the origin of one of the older and less popular myths. Who knows. Either way the historical timeline needs serious revision.

Angels were put to guard the garden of Eden.
And the Bible is not dirty, it talks of the sins of mankind. Something we all struggle with.

well, you cant have a biblical garden of eden and a non biblical chronology. the two are mutually contradictory.
if the garden of eden is real then so was the flood of noah, which is such a catastrophe that it destroyed the kandscape of the place so that is could never be found nowadays

I think, THIS is the Garden of Eden. The Norse had Yggdrasil - a tree that connected the worlds. Lucas had a "Force" that binds and surrounds all living thing. The idea is the same though, that life, existence itself is a growing "thing". Eden is located everywhere - its later expressed in the Gospels as The kingdom of Heaven. Its not so much a location somewhere else, but it is the perspective through which to see ourselves and our surroundings.
