http://www.mnk9.com Oscar started out as Australia's first dog employed by Merimbula airport in NSW to clear wildlife from the air fields in 2008. Oscar still does part time work there. Oscar's owner and handler Mr. Jim Shields PHD is a very talented and experienced man with Koalas and Australian wild life. The pilot program for the Koala detection has been a huge success with many Koalas and koala habitats found by Oscar around Australia. This has helped locate the Koala colonies for survey and development and given an extra tool to the Koala community. More Koala detection dogs are in training to help protect this awesome Aussie Icon. We love the Koala and we love the people who are doing their bit to protect this much loved Aussie.
