  • SO how is Bopomofo used ? And how does it compare to pinyin?

  • @Sasuke7760878 it is used for pronunciation. but it may takes some time for learners to remember each item and its pronunciation. just like pinyin, bopomo includes several consonants and vowels, and learners need to know the combination.

  • I'm curious (because I'm not studying Chinese)… those strokes are sort of like a key to pronounce the sounds, right? Like, not only does it change the meaning of the character, but shows how to say it (sorry if I'm not being clear)

  • @YoSoyEdo these are just for pronunciation. for example, the combination of the consonant ㄅ and the vowel ㄠ, in pronounced together as ㄅㄠ. However, it only shows pronunciation. If you relate the pronunciation ㄅㄠ to chinese characters, it chould be 包 or 胞 or 褒 ...etc. and these different chinese character with the same pronunciation express different meaning. hope my explanation is clear for you =)

  • This is the best version of ㄅㄆㄇ I have ever seen and heard. Thank you so much for uploading it. I'm learning this right now. Hanyupinyin to me is very difficult and this is a more easier way for me. Hanyupinyin is confusing because I get the sounds mixed up with normal English sounds.

    Thanks Again wu06wu06:)

  • @TheCalvin1997 no worries!! i am glad this is helpful for you =)

  • 原来“厂厂” 是呵呵的意思啊 一直以为是哈哈的意思 - -

  • 其實國文深入了解

    並沒有比英文簡單喔

    像是文言文、成語、有些修辭......等

  • @Sasuke7760878 ㄅㄆㄇㄈ are used in the same way as pinyin. the only difference is that ㄅㄆㄇㄈ are "symbols" in Taiwan representing the sounds. just as portuguese or french or any other language which has "symbols" different than the alphabet

  • (ㄅ,ㄆ,ㄇ,ㄈ,ㄉ,ㄊ,ㄋ,ㄌ,ㄍ,ㄎ,ㄏ,ㄐ,ㄑ,ㄒ) each cannot be pronounced by itself and must be paired w/ ㄛ, ㄜ, & ㄧ. In particular, for (ㄅ,ㄆ,ㄇ,ㄈ), each is paired w/ ㄛ, thus (ㄅㄛ,ㄆㄛ,ㄇㄛ,ㄈㄛ), for (ㄉ,ㄊ,ㄋ,ㄌ,ㄍ,ㄎ,ㄏ), each is w/ ㄜ, thus (ㄉㄜ,ㄊㄜ, ㄋㄜ,ㄌㄜ,ㄍㄜ,ㄎㄜ,ㄏㄜ), and for (ㄐ,ㄑ,ㄒ), each is w/ ㄧ, thus (ㄐㄧ,ㄑㄧ,ㄒㄧ). In this video, the child was taught to pronounce (ㄅㄜ,ㄆㄜ,ㄇㄜ,ㄈㄜ), which are incorrect. In Mandarin, (ㄅ,ㄆ,ㄇ,ㄈ) are NEVER paired w/ ㄜ, except for (ㄇㄜ˙) in 什麼(ㄇㄜ˙).

  • @wu06wu06 Not really TTwTT

I'm just going to stick with Chinese is more confusing than Japanese…
