Patterson pass, located between Livermore and Tracy in California, parallels I-580 through the Altamont hills. It's a beautiful, fun drive. Much more exciting than the freeway, and perfect for the miata. This is a computer simulation of a drive on a private road very similar to Patterson Pass.

  • Automatic = zzzzzzzz..... ;)

  • @plixplop I agree. That's why both of my cars are manual

  • I just flipped my Nissan 240 like 4 hours ago on that road :( car is totaled fml

  • @boms209 Man that sucks. Ive driven this road at least 1000 times (I've been commuting to Pleasanton from Tracy off and on for like 10 years) and never any incidents. I like driving it at night because there's less traffic and you can see headlights coming around the blind corners.

  • If you mean left-right jiggly, no it's not at all. Up and down, yes, because the spec-miata springs I have are unbelievably stiff :P I have a high tolerance for discomfort. And yes, the speed limit sucks (my only speeding ticket was on it) but I've never seen CHP farther than the bottom of the "top of the world" hill.
