THE LADIES OF THE "OLD" YOUNG & THE RESTLESS........
were always so dressed up - beautiful flowing outfits and glamourous jewelry, movie star like in all the moves they made - even Katherine getting up from a sofa. Where did this SOAP go ????

I loved the way the show would create such elegant sets and costumes in the 80's. The women were always adorned like Christmas trees, and the camera men and set designers staged it so you could see those gorgeous crystal chandeliers hanging just over the characters' heads in scenes. Y&R paid alot of attention to the "look" of their show in addition to the stories being told.

@billyralphweeden I think the soaps are trying so hard to be like "NORMAL LIFE." Viewers used to look to soap operas as fantasy - not some dulled down version of NYPD. Women are taking over the workplace, so they don't have time to watch Soaps. For the small population that watches soaps, they need to up their game. They can still be glamorous and 2010...but the producers are oblivious.
