Researchers have been studying the melting of glaciers and ice sheets in Greenland . Although global warming is affecting the region, the runaway effect isn't as extreme as was feared.

    Greenland has the name because parts of it were found to be warm, green and pleasant 1,000 years ago; so it was settled by the vikings. They had to leave when the Climate Changed 700 years ago as the little ice age started in the middle ages and Greenland froze again.

    Ask the IPCC and Michael Mann where these periods are on his HOCKEY STICK!!!?
