This is a video shot from inside the Carousel Room at the House On The Rock.
It is the WORLDS LARGEST [INDOOR] CAROUSEL !
This was filmed October 11, 2009
near Spring Green Wisconsin.
I was lucky enough to share this moment in this spectacular, unimaginable fantasy that unraveled as
I walked through the House On The Rock.
...also included in this video at the end is a Mechanical Box show of the Dying Drunkard!
It's almost like a religious experience, but an eerie one.
I intend to be visiting this marvelous place year after year!

~Imagine a trip to an Attraction, a miraculous house constructed high atop a rock overlooking rolling terrain. As you walk through the house and its 16 connected buildings, you behold a variety of sights and sounds, the likes of which youve never seen before.~

The House on the Rock is a complex of architecturally unique rooms, streets, gardens and shops built mostly by architect Alex Jordan, Jr. The "house" was initiated in the 1940s atop a column of rock that stands in a field in Spring Green, Wisconsin, and additions were made to the structure for several decades afterward. The complex features "The Streets of Yesterday," a recreation of a turn-of-the-century American town; "The Heritage of the Sea, featuring nautical exhibits and a larger-than-life model of a fight between a blue whale and a giant squid; "The Music of Yesterday," a huge collection of automatic music machines; and the world's largest working carousel, among other attractions. The earlier structures, namely the House on the Rock itself, the Gate House, and the Mill House, are reminiscent of the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. The House on the Rock appears in the novel American Gods, by Neil Gaiman.

  • First I ever heard of this place was a couple of decades ago when I found a booklet about it in a thrift store. When I was little, I actually had a dream once about a huge carousel very much like this one, but my dream occured before this carousel was even built! Needless to say, I'm fascinated. I wish I could go there in person, but doubt that will ever happen.

  • @bigbadmeerkat

    Never say Never!

Make it happen and I definately recommend YOU

to visit this Magical Wonderland with someone SOON! I hope you DO=] +God Bless+

  • Nice that you got the details of the ceiling in the carousel room. I had a hard time getting some decent video, with the rooms being so naturally dark.

  • @geezerbill > Thanx so much for your interest in my video. I was just as marveled by your video!

I also had heard about the HOTR from my good friend who had visited here several times (male voice narrating the video) and highly recommended me to visit it. I am very glad I took him up on that! I'm surely going to visit the Rock in this new year=]
