I see that your family took advantage of an REO home at a discounted price. Congratulations!
A little bit of work will take care of those imperfections.
However, first time home buyers need to be careful when buying REO's. If you deal with an agent inexperienced in REO's, this may bring some unforeseen difficulties that may end up costing your deposit and possibly even more money.
