How to attach the nock of the arrow to the string. Traditional Hungarian (Magyar) recurve bow - 3000 year old replica. Any comment appreciated.

I started these series to show how I can hopefully get better with just a little practice. I had a right-arm injury and operation recently, so archery seemed the right exercise to get into shape as well as great fun.

Watch these videos for beginner tips and nice bows.

  • @oman45x41 not at all

  • I'm really interested in seeing how to make a recurve bow exactly like that, and I'm also curious about its range. Thx for uploading this vid!

  • i cannot help you with making it. its range is about 250 metres

  • Hi there. just wondering if you would put like some kind of marking on the string so you would know exactly where to place the nock of the arrow.

    Thanks

  • hi, nice idea. i wonder why there isnt any such marking on the string, really.

  • @freekazoid05 nice joke, I hope the americans will invest brain. because its an unknown thing in your "country"

  • I'm guessing this is new technology in Hungary lol

  • Can you enlighten us with you knowledge if Magyar culture is different from Huns or not. How Magyars learned bow design before Huns arrival in 4th century ? Did you read it in history that In europe some tribes were using composite recurve bows like this one around 9th century B.C. so it is 3000 yo replica ?

  • The black fletching is called the cock feather. The place you nock the arrow is called the nocking point and is can be mark with thread, to do this you should us a Bracing height gauge but you can just do it by eye.

  • you should proably add them little tuffs of fur on the bottom and top. makes it more quite and thats better for hunting

  • Very strong bow.
