One caller believes those who aren't working and on Job Seekers Allowance (or Benefits/dole) should give something back because he doesn't want you to get something for nothing. George Galloway as always (defender of the unemployed), pummels the guy silly by saying does he favour bringing back the workhouses (and referencing Charles Dickens famous novel Olver Twist). With a lack of intellect, the caller says yes, he would want to see the return of the workhouses.

Another caller simply doesn't trust the government to run our banks and like the big Execs to run them as they are. The caller is implying (according to Galloway) that he would like to see the NHS privatised with people like Fred Goodwin helming the free market healthcare system since he is questioning the state of the NHS. Where are they getting them from, says Galloway.

  • Galloway at his best !

  • An uneducated man and George let him know that he was in the most cruel way possible. He twisted the guys arm, as a skilled debater, into saying we should bring back the workhouse. Of course he wasn't suggesting that at the start, he was just couldn't manoeuvre himself out of it after. George interviews many skilled debaters on his show and he never dares talk to them like this, even though they often express similar opinions. "Your feeble intellect" - polite to the working class as always G.

  • The Tories used to have a saying "one man working, three men at the gates". That one man is kept in fear of losing his livelihood, while the men at the gates are hungry and will step in and replace him any time. They still want a reserve of labour, it weakens the unions, makes men into cap-touching automatons whose only purpose is the make the boss rich. Except these days, they don't want those men at the gates to have recourse to a financial safety net. That weakens the bosses' position slightly.

  • there always be unemployment under capitalism theres no such thing as jobs for everyone.

  • I dont know why the unemployed Bricklayer phoned us and sead "get the unemployed to pick litter of the street" why did he not say Build 1 Million new energy efficient homes?.

  • This guy is a bricklayer and unemployed, I agree that we should get the Unemployed to do something, instead of giving fairytail amounts of money to incompetent financial institutions, we should put that money into giving people work in building MagLev trains accross Britain as well as other usefull things.

  • The caller said that you cant get nothing for nothing!

Well mister, thats exactly what the bankers, corporate leaders and many politicians get now..THEY GET PLENTY FOR ABSOLUTLY NOTHING!

So that stupid caller is happy for them to get something for nothing...but not the rest of the people!

  • He was right though, there was a full moon and that seems to bring out the nutters.

  • lol, he was on fire that day
