Newark, California's Stage 1 Theatre's delightful "In Concert" version of Ron Lytle's THE MAN WHO SAVED CHRISTMAS.

Ron Lytle's "The Man Who Saved Christmas" is a 'new, old-fashioned musical' that has received rave reviews since its 2006 debut.

A bright and breezy stage show in the grandest tradition, "The Man Who Saved Christmas" is loosely based on the true story of A.C. Gilbert: inventor of the Erector Set, Olympic gold-medal athlete, and one-time magician.

Set in 1917, when America was embroiled in the first World War, "The Man Who Saved Christmas" focuses on Gilbert's battle with the U.S. government and its attempts to adopt an ill-advised policy banning toy sales during the holiday season.

The best holiday gift for regional and community theatres is the news that Ron Lytle has now released the licensing rights for this 'instant holiday classic' to be performed throughout the country!
