  • I EVEN WORKED THERE AS A DANCER ON THE SPEAKERS AND A COCTAIL WAITRESS

  • I WAS THE QUEEN, PEOPLE WAITED TO SEE WHAT I HAD ON THIS WEEK!!!NEVER STOOD LINE

  • thats my music they dont play it like that NO MORE!!!!!!!

  • best part of my life i could cry right now i hated to see it go just like the studio 54

  • i still feel high!!from the site of this fabulous place where i found peace love and fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • UNBELIEVEABLE !!!!!! GREAT JOB !!!

  • This is awesome! Spend many nights here... Miss those Philly days, Revival, Milk bar and the Black banana!

  • I loved this place and have many interesting memories of time spent there into the wee hours.

  • Now wait, it was Garreck who let us play on dead nights! It was Xavier who stopped us playing after I skipped a Grace Jones record being played specially for Barishnikov, who was having dinner downstairs. The look of horror!!

  • What a delight! God I loved this place. I spent most of my time there in the late 70's to mid-80's, before they expanded next door. It was the most fun in the early 80's with the New Wave going on. It always felt like everyone was in costume.

Me & my buddy even DJ'd there on Monday nights (Xavier let us play on dead nights) around 1980. I loved to play with the neon BB sign.

  • Wow, memories!

  • Well done!

  • wild

    well done

  • wow that was awsome. still the most fun i've had, better then lime light even back in the day

  • Boy does this bring back memories! I grew up at the Black Banana and I remember Kirk (even though I'm sure he has no memory of me!). I spent most of my best late nights there from about 1982 till 1993 when I finally left Philly for good. All I can say is, to Natasha for finally creating the site: Brava, Baby!! Even if you don't know who I am, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for both you and Coco!! You always treated me soooo nice!!!

  • very nice !!
